I am an artist and a researcher, working between Helsinki and Berlin. I am interested in social categories and their conception, and my work focuses on uncovering the historical and political webs of meaning surrounding concepts like sin, human connection and psychiatric diagnoses. In my practice, I attempt to understand the arbitrary nature of scientific concepts and how they were historically construed.
At this moment I am investigating the ideas of coolness, popularity, and social interactions. I work mainly with moving image and text, and I often combine the two as installations. I am also a doctoral researcher in the ELBOW-project. My field of study is medical knowledge construction and the early history of medical electricity.
